Bro. Gregory Professes Solemn Vows

On Sunday April 22, 2007 Bro. Gregory professed his solemn vows in the D.J. Sokol memorial chapel at Mount Michael Abbey. A crowd of over 150 monks, family members, and guests were present for the ceremony.

The profession consisted of several parts. First, Bro. Gregory was instructed by the Abbot, then he made his promises, read his vows and signed them. At that point he sang "Into your hands I commend my spirit oh Lord" and proceeded to prostrate himself before the alter and was covered with a funeral pall representing death to his old life. After a litany of prayers he rose to his new life and was vested in the monastic choir robe.

After Mass everyone gathered in the dinning room for a festive banquet.

Bro. Gregory had family in attendance from Florida and Columbia. Next fall he is scheduled to begin theological studies at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota in preparation for the priesthood
